Most of the houses we get called to sit on lots built between 1961 and 1999, with a lot of that stock going up in the 1960s and 70s. That matters because doors from that era often run on hardware nobody stocks new anymore, one-piece doors, odd-width tracks, torsion springs sized for panels that don't match what's on the shelf today. If your door is original to the house, expect us to talk through repair versus replacement rather than assuming a quick fix.
We work on springs, openers, tracks, rollers, cables, and panels. Longview sits in a cold, moderate climate band, which means winter is hard on steel cable and on openers that sit in an unheated garage, cold makes lubricant stiffen and metal contract, and that's when a marginal spring or worn cable finally lets go. Do you work on garage door openers or just the door itself?
Both. Openers fail on their own, bad logic boards, worn gears, dead sensors, separate from anything wrong with the door or spring. We diagnose the opener and the door system together, since a problem that looks like a broken opener is sometimes a binding track or a spring that's lost tension instead.
Why does my door act up more in winter?

Not accurately. Spring, cable, and panel repairs vary enough by door size and hardware that a phone estimate would just be a guess. We look at the door first and quote from what we actually find, not from a description.
